Good Morning Moms!
   I am sorry this is late getting to you. This week for presentation only 1/2 the class will be participating. It will be on...
  Show us how to do or make something
Demonstration Speech (5-6 min)
Demonstrate how to do something, make something, fix something, use something, or how something works. Use visual aids such as models, drawings, or actual items. Ask your audience to participate if possible. Ask if there are any questions about your presentation.
This is our first group wk 8
The 2nd group Wk 9
This is a great adventure to do with your child! Think of something that everyone in class can do with your child
 as they are demonstrating.
 You can bake something at home, take pictures and your child can either do it again in class
 (without baking) or just explain and show pictures. Bring the trial product in for us to all try!
Teach us how to draw a picture.
There are SOOO many ideas out there! There are NO LIMITS to what they can do. PLEASE No BB guns or knives.
If this is not a good week for you please let me know ASAP, so I can make changes.
Please Text my phone 985-373-6220.
I am looking forward to all of these creative ideas that you all will be sharing!
Tin whistle this week was AWESOME!! Everyone listened so attentively, and followed directions
the first time. I am  adding these 2 U tube videos. This lady does an excellent job of showing us how to teach our little ones!
First Sounds- (Preview) (Preview)                (Preview)
     Please review your Foundation Guide Pg158-160 also we did Left Hand exercise practice on page 176 the scale on the next page is a big help also, If your child is getting it, do all of the exercise on 176. maybe practice a song on page 178 or 179. This will really excite your child to actually play a real song! Maybe we can learn Jingle bells for Christmas pg 180.
      This week for Science projects we are make our own solar system. You can check out the instructions in your foundation guide pg. 143.
I hope that everyone has an awesome weekend!

Week 7

   Welcome back moms and class!
                                I hope everyone had a nice break and that we are ready to start our next six weeks! It is going to been AMAZING!
        Science this 6 weeks is going to be AWESOME! If you would like a preview please check out your Foundation guide on page 142.
        Presentation this week will be a SHOW AND TELL book. We will be working on Expression: Make your voice interesting by varying your tone and volume. Try adding a pause to enhance your story as you are telling about your book, please DO NOT encourage your child to READ the book. This presentation is about TELLING us about their favorite book, not reading it. Practice just showing pictures and speaking from memory, this is harder than we think, most children want to read the pages.
      We are doing Tin Whistle this 6 weeks. Please bring your whistle with your child's name on it. You can look ahead in your guide to pg158 it will help you this coming week to review with your child what we are doing in class.
                                      Praise the Lord!
                                     Praise God in his heavenly dwellings:
                                     praise him in his mighty heaven!
                                     Praise him for his mighty works;
                                     praise his unequaled greatness!
                                     Praise him with a blast of the trumpet;
                                     praise him with the lyre and harp!
                                     Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
                                     praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
                                     Praise him with clash of cymbals;
                                     praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
                                     Let everything that lives sing praises to the Lord!
                                     Praise the Lord!
                                                              Psalm 150(NLT)
       I am looking forward to the next six weeks and the holidays! Please continue working on review of the past 5 weeks, we will be playing more review games since we have lots of stuff to work with!

Wk 6

Hi moms,
We are getting into the groove of it now! The kids are waking up in class, and I'm getting to know their bright personalities! Everyone is doing great! I love the enthusiasm that they are starting to show.😉
Presentations have been awesome. For week six its SHOW AND TELL SURPRISE! THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THEY WILL PUT IN THEIR POCKET OR IN A BAG , IT IS TO BE A SURPRISE TO THE REST OF THE CLASS, They should have hints to give to their classmates about what they have hidden. Remember presentation is about them getting accustomed to being in front of others and learning these great communication skills one week at a time. We know they can talk; we know they can tell a good story; now we want to help them to start getting control of their body as they're  speaking. This will not happen overnight. That is why we work on these skills twice during our 24 weeks and every year that they are in foundations.
As I said earlier, our kiddos are waking up in class, and although I do not see any discipline problems please just help your children to understand what the classroom rules are and what the discipline action is.
Our discipline system is a series of three dots- these are our class rules.
                            Follow directions quickly and on first time asked
                            Listen when your tutor is talking
                            Raise your hand for permission to speak
                            RESPECT YOURSELF, OTHERS, AND THE CHURCH
From this time on we will start playing games. I will ask individual children different review questions from the last few weeks. Please talk to your child about being able to sit quietly while their classmate is answering the questions, a fun thing to do is to practice raising their hands at home To answer their CC questions. This will make doing it in class a lot easier. I only have one child at home and she loves doing this.
We are rolling now and if all you can do is listen to the music cd's in the car THATS ENOUGH for most young students! We are setting pegs and they will go over all of this same material again. Keep your smile on and KEEP ON PRAYING!!! Remember who gave you this job of homeschooling and being a mom.....Our God!
See everyone next week!
